Hearing care for care homes
Hearing tests, microsuction earwax removal, hearing aid fittings, repairs and aftercare for residents, in the comfort of their own care home. One visit can see several residents, and we work alongside your staff and residents' families.
Hearing is easy to overlook in care.
Hearing loss is very common among care home residents, and it is easily missed. A resident who cannot hear well can seem withdrawn, confused or uninterested, when really they are struggling to follow what is said.
Earwax build-up is especially common in older people and hearing aid wearers, and a blocked ear on top of hearing loss makes a big difference. Lost, broken or flat hearing aids are another everyday problem. Regular visits catch these issues before they affect wellbeing.
No trips out, no waiting rooms. We bring all the equipment with us.
We leave a summary for the care plan, with simple tips on cleaning, batteries and inserting hearing aids.
What we can do in your home.
- Full hearing tests, adapted for residents who find tests tiring or have memory problems.
- Microsuction earwax removal, with no water, at the bedside.
- Hearing aid fittings, including models that are simpler to handle.
- Repairs and servicing for all major brands, wherever the aids came from.
- Help with lost hearing aids, cleaning routines and labelling.
- Short practical guidance for staff on daily hearing aid care.
Residents with NHS hearing aids are welcome too. We can check, clean and help with wax, and tell you when an NHS review is the better route.
Simple for your home, comfortable for residents.
Call or WhatsApp us with the residents who need a hearing test, earwax removal or help with their hearing aids.
We see several residents in one visit, in their room or a quiet space, Monday to Saturday.
We work with residents, staff and families on consent, and can explain results to next of kin if the resident wishes.
We leave clear findings and next steps, and write to the GP where needed.
